Add an extra dimension to your electronic documents.

Adobe PDF files are a worldwide standard format which are used daily by most companies and individuals. Now we can offer you the option of including high-quality multimedia content in your PDF documents.

Multimedia PDF files are standalone documents which do not require the reader to download any additional plugins (or have internet access) to view. All that is required is a fairly up-to-date version of the free Adobe reader (version 9) to view the multimedia content.

The documents are also backwards-compatible, so even if your end-user has an older version of Adobe Reader installed they will still be able to see the main document, with your choice of image replacing the multimedia content.

4 basic types of multimedia content can be added to your documents :

  • Video content – ideal for short video clips, perhaps to advertise a particular product or service in  a PDF brochure or to demonstrate how a technical part or process works in your internal training documents.

  • Audio content -  good for including podcasts, personal messages or music clips in your documents. File size is much smaller than video content, and therefore significantly longer clips can be included.

  • Interactive flash - this allows users to actually interact with your document by embedding a flash module. Lots of applications - for example you may want to have one of your Powerpoint presentations converted into an interactive flash version and included in a PDF document, allowing viewers to not only see the slides but also control them? Or perhaps include an interactive photo gallery in your PDF document where the viewer can choose which photographs to view.

  • Interactive 3D – the most impressive use which lets your reader interact in real-time with an embedded 3D model or environment. Good for showing off new products, or perhaps letting users wander through a virtual environment. Huge range of options available which can be optimised to suit your intended use.

Prices for multimedia PDF documents start from £59 + VAT (for adding video/audio content to your existing documents), interactive flash from £99 + VAT and interactive 3D documents from £179 (based on original CAD files being supplied).

The two examples on the left demonstrate some of the simple uses of this technology. The SAVBAM flyer uses a short video clip to promote a new product, while the Merchant City flyer includes a self-playing slideshow to enable a number of photos to be shown in a single frame.

Both documents require Acrobat Reader 9 in order to view the enhanced features, but can also be opened as standard static documents in older versions from 6 onwards.

In addition to the above multimedia options, many other advanced capabilities can be added to your standard PDF documents...

Smart forms can be created which automatically process user data before sending to your own server – for example you can send clients a PDF sales brochure with a built-in order form which contains a full product price list. After selecting the products they want, the smart form automatically creates a sales invoice and sends this data to your company ready for processing further.

Please get in touch to find out a bit more about any of the features, or to chat about how multimedia & interactive PDF documents could help your particular business.
